The Puma Welcome Academy shouts out loud: Amunt València!!!
The 200 boys and girls of the 15 Under-12 teams of the VCF Academy enjoyed a great welcome party at the Ciudad Deportiva of Valencia CF.
The VCF Academy values are a cornerstone of the project at the club, but they aren't only passed down from coaches to players. At times, the initiative comes from the young talents themselves, who have a desire not only to win games and progress with their development, but also to do the right thing and help others.
This week, those at the VCF Academy residence put together an inspiring initiative to aid one of their own. Cadete player Fafanding Cisse, who left behind friends and family in Palma de Mallorca to move to the Ciudad Deportiva, has been unable to see them since the beginning of the year. Understanding the privilege they have to be able to spend time with their loved ones, and seeing that they could contribute, his fellow VCF Academy residents banded together to raise money for a ticket home for Cisse to visit.
The gesture was praised by Valencia CF president Anil Murthy, who said "We are very proud of the wonderful surprise that you have given your colleague Fafanding. It is an incredible gesture and I would like to congratulate all of you for your concern for your colleague. When we are far away from home, the Valencia CF family becomes a very important part of our lives -especially in difficult times. That is why the club feel very proud of you."
"You have taught us a lesson and shown that you possess important values like maturity, consideration, team spirit and, above all, generous hearts."
